Niagara Falls, Canada

In October 2015, I surprised my Mum with a holiday to Toronto, Canada which included a trip to Niagara Falls. It truly was and is a breathtakingly beautiful place and I was absolutely lost for words when I saw Niagara Falls in person.

We took a coach trip from our hotel pickup point and headed to Niagara Falls, stopping along the way to ride in a helicopter and fly overhead too - I have the most amazing photos from the decision to say yes to going in the helicopter with Mum.

What was amazing too, is in the above photo of my Mum and myself, the bridge behind us is important - halfway across it is Canada, the other half is the USA - so both flags fly at the kiosk that's on the bridge as it's the border.

We were given the red plastic capes to put on, as we made our way into Niagara Falls on the boat. It was such a fun experience which we loved and I have got so many photos and videos of our time visiting. Watch out for the water as it gets everywhere, even when you're above the Falls themselves.

We ate lunch at a restaurant overlooking Niagara Falls, which was stunning in itself and being present in the moment as we were eating our food in such a picturesque place was truly wonderful. The staff were fabulous and we also saw the place where Marilyn Monroe had her first on-screen kiss too.

After such a superb visit we made our way on the coach to Niagara -on-the -Lake to have a look around. What a quaint and pretty village it is. We visited lots of shops and the place is lovely and very peaceful. The shop owners are polite and very friendly too.

We then boarded the coach again to head to Pillitteri Estates Winery to see their vineyard, have a tour and the rest of the people tasted their wine. I don't drink alcohol so I didn't have any wine but it was nice to look around and gave me a chance to take photos.

The visit to Niagara Falls was outstanding and I highly recommend going. I'd love to go back again and take my time there, as we were on the coach timer and so didn't have a lot of time to stroll around and take in the moment even more.

Overall, it was phenomenal. Rainbows are everywhere.
